Tango - 69' Custom Sail
The elegantly finished 69' Tango is a thoroughly modern performance yacht equipped with push button controls for easy handling. Tango was built for coastal cruising. She was launched in early 1999 from Philbrook's Boatyard in Sidney's Tsehum Harbour on Vancouver Island.
Tango is a majestic, high-tech beauty which has been luxuriously finished and outfitted with fully automated sail controls. Her rich flag-blue hull, gold sheer strip, stainless steel toe rails, teak decks, and low pilothouse quietly evoke the image of a gentleman's yacht.
The yacht's teah deck is laid in traditional fashion, meticulously fitted and glued to the fiberglass base (with no screws to work and leak). Tango is fitted with an abundance of custom stainless steel, including one-piece toe rails, waste and water tanks, and all fasteners. The MAN diesel engine is rubber-mounted and detuned slightly from its original 250hp to provide a 9kt cruise at low rpm. With no vibration and minimal sound, those on board often forget the engine is running.
The pilothouse, like the rest of the interior is finished in mahogany paneling. To port is dinette seating for six or more, with a hydraulically operated high-low table which converts to a pilot berth.
